Too Tall?

Being 5'9" I'm already pretty tall. Being in flats or sandals gives me a chance to be close to eye level with my petite friends. When I was younger I felt so awkward walking around in high heels, towering above most of the other girls. I feel like Godzilla attacking the shorter people around me.  But, as I got older and became more confident and comfortable in myself I was proud to show off my height no matter what footwear I sported.

But recently I've been wondering how tall is too tall? There are some shoes I have been coveting; but between the platform and the wedge height, they'll add about 5 inches to my height. That's putting me at 6'2"! And for the record I'm not moonlighting as a model, so my day to day life doesn't involve a runway to strut down. What do you guys think? Am I reverting back to my self-conscious self or should I embrace my gentle giant facade and rock the highest heels I can?

  1. I can't help you here as I'm exactly the same. I'm 5'9" and I am constantly back and forth on the wear or not to wear heels. I usually stick with flats because mainly they suit my day to day life but I'd love to run around in heels.
We should embrace the heel and wedge :) xx

  2. Yes! I love it. I thought if at least one person told me that it was okay to embrace them then I would! Thanks Sarah :)

  3. My great aunt was 6 feet tall (although she preferred to be called 5'12") and always wore heels... embrace it, tall girls always look better in their clothes anyway! Newly following you, come see me sometime... Orangies Attic

  4. If I were you I would embrace it and tower over the world. I'm only 5'2" and I constantly lament over the things I can't wear because of my short stubby legs. I wear heels just to be eye level with most people. Put on some capri pants or a midi skirt with 4" platforms and strut!

  5. Embrace, embrace, embrace. Wear what ever shoes you are passionate about. I'm only 5'6" and super tall shoes make me closer to my husband's height. He always comments and I just rock my shoes.

  6. Yay! Thanks girls for the encouragement, this girl is getting some tall shoes!
