Traveling with style

With Summer fast approaching it makes me start thinking of packing lists, trips to the airports, and packing up the car with road snacks, travel music and luggage.

Lately I have been having this nostalgic feeling towards taking trips, like I should I be wearing a suit and gloves and stepping off a plane or train looking like a combination between Barbie and Betty Draper. Which brings me to my new love of the train case.

The 1940's and 50's answer to the carry on bag and of course what was most important to the traveling woman of that time? The upkeep of her fabulous face and hair of course! When I was younger and exploring through my parents crawlspace I found all this old luggage, including a 1970's take on the train case of my Mothers. It's a bit more modern than the old fashion originals but I still told her not to get rid of it because I want it!

There are lots of places on etsy and ebay that provide you with lots of color, shape and size varieties all at great price points. I have my eyes on these:

If you want to snatch one of these away from me you can get them here, here and here. Happy travels this summer!

Ode to camp

Two of my dearest friends have recently opened their pool up for business the other day and I am super excited to have an exclusive poolside chair and I don't have to worry about little kids running and splashing. To break in their first year of pool ownership this summer they thought about having some themed parties to kick it all off and one of their ideas was "Summer Camp." And I was in love with this adorable idea!

I envision a day of swimming, games, my hair in pigtails, a plaid bathing suit and s'mores around a pit fire while laughing and sharing stories with my closest friends. I've made collage to get us all in the mood and to encourage them to actually throw the party. Happy camping and don't forget the bug spray!
