Masion Jules

Have you guys seen this new collection at Macy's called Maison Jules? I just discovered it last week, and my inner French girl is jumping for joy over their pieces. Inspired by Parisian street style, you've got subtle patterns, muted colors mixed with bright pops of pinks and oranges, on relaxed hems and fits.

I mean how much do I want to be this little French brunette at the sidewalk cafe? Just sipping coffee, checking my phone, while I sit adorably in my wedge oxfords, plum skinnies, and quirky sweater with oversized glasses stitched on it?

I must have tried on a dozen items, and really loved how they've mixed cute with casual; which is my style to a tee. You can look really pulled together for just errands or perfectly styled for casual date night.
The pieces are reasonably priced, and Macy's typically has some sort of sale going on, so you could really find some deals. There are several things I'm eyeing right now, that navy blazer with the ruffle especially, and you can bet I'll be saving my Euros to get a few pieces for Spring.

Spring Breezes

top and boots:Urban Outfitters, skirt: Anthropologie, necklaces: (black) Stella and Dot, (locket) vintage

A warm spring day dared me to bare my pale legs to world. It was worth it, because I couldn't ask for a more perfect Tuesday. Lunch with a friend, a little shopping, reading in the sun, and going for a run topped my day.

Keeping Warm

sweater: BB Dakota, jeans: A&F, boots: Unisa, necklace: Stella and Dot
Bundled up in sweaters and boots is not the way I imagined my end of March outfits to look. Sigh. I mean don't I technically live in the South?! There's snow on the ground for goodness sake. Nevertheless, my Southwesterly print is keeping my spirits up while making me feel cozy. One day this skin will know warmth!

Beat the Chill

cardigan: Gap, scarf: American Eagle, tunic: Anthro, jeans: Abercrombie, boots: Cole Hahn
What you can't tell in this picture is how cold it is outside! It was a balmy 20 degrees out when I snapped these outfitting pictures, don't let the bright light fool you. So I was all about the sweater cuffed boots, snuggly grandpa cardigan, and scarf to help fight off the frigid air. It was the perfect outfit for a day full of trips in and out of my car. Don't worry I had a jacket on too. The neon colors in my infinity scarf is a wishful nod to warmer days. April, could you like hurry up and get here already?

New Year. New Look

sweater and pants: Old Navy, collared shirt: The Limited
I'm already missing curls, messy buns, braids, and ponytails. Things like my neck, nose, and ears have become all too noticeable. Clothes look different and scarves are my new favorite accessory. I've already calculated the number of months it will take to grow out. And I've officially stalked all of Anne Hathaway's red carpet appearances since cutting her hair too for inspiration.

It's growing on me. Slowly. Some days I think I love it, and I'm getting the hang of styling it, other days I think, "what did I do?" But I've always wanted to try my hair this way but never had the guts to pull the trigger. When I put it on my 30 list I felt like I had to do it this time. Hopefully more of the "loving it" days wins out in the long run. Either way, hair grows right?

December Plaid

jacket: vintage, blouse: The Limited, pants: Anthropologie, boots: Nine West, earrings: Stella and Dot
I've had vintage hunting dreams of finding a coat as unique as this one at a vintage shop. Street Scene came through for me on this colorful find. It's the perfect topper for all my holiday hustling and bustling. There's something so satisfying about having something one of a kind too. Mostly because I love saying "it's vintage" when someone asks me where I got it. I dress to beat of my own drummer! Now all I need is a little drop in the temperature to show it off in style.

Bring it On

scarf: American Eagle, cardigan: Anthropologie, tshirt and boots: Old Navy, jeans: AG, socks: Target

It's official; fall has started. And I know this because I'm wearing boots, a scarf, and layers I'm usually a little reluctant to give up summer but I held on as a long as I could. So thought I'd do it up right on this first weekend of October and put on all my favorite fall accouterments  All I need is a pumpkin spice latte in my hand and carved jack-o-lantern on my front porch and I will be set. Here's to dressing for my favorite season. Bring on the changing leaves!

Reunited and it feels so good

A year and a half ago I took this photo of myself trying on the Recurring Theme skirt at Anthropologie. I never bought it and it turned into something I wish I had.

I can finally get a good night's sleep because we've been reunited.

Thanks to the wonderful world of ebay I can cross one of my sought after Anthro items off my wishlist.

Summertime Silliness

Whoa guys, did you forget about me? I know I've been a little MIA lately, but nothing has been really grabbing me to write about. There are of course things that I see that I'm like, "oh, that's cute," or, "that's a pretty picture," but no real content to go with it. I think this post my friend Lesalina wrote about challenging bloggers to write better content has made me stop and think about what I'm writing about before I hit 'publish.'

But lets focus on the here and now: this post. I've gotten so used to taking outfitting pictures by myself with instagram or a self timer I don't know how to act in front of the camera when someone else is taking pictures. Results usually end up with silly faces and posing like I'm a first round vote off on ANTM. But I can embrace some not-so-perfect pictures of myself and share them with you guys.

sweater: JCrew, skirt: Anthropologie, necklace: Macy's

A Perfect Match

shirt: Urban Outfitters, skirt: Anthropologie, sandals: Steve Madden, necklace: Stella and Dot

I had a girls night out last week and made my girlfriend play photographer for an outfitting post. Who knew having someone else's help could show my whole outfit from head to toe so easily? I absolutely love this skirt but I feel like I never knew what to pair with it. Bright orange and purple are tricky combination to match; of course simplicity is always the answer! Gray t-shirt will I ever run out of uses for you?

A Dress of Jonquils

dress and belt: Anthropologie, shoes: Steve Madden, bracelet: Stella and Dot

Just because I haven't been documenting my outfits lately doesn't mean I've been running around town sans-cute outfits! Taking pictures by yourself gets a little frustrating at times, so I'm glad my iphone and instagram make it a little easier to share. I love this dress by the way, the perfect mix of color and pattern mixing all in one easy piece.
