Fate's Gentle Push

As you can tell there is a theme to my movie watching this week: Pariee. The Eiffel tower, cobblestone streets, the historic architecture...I'm in love and I've never even stepped been. How I long to get swept up in their culture. I had a customer tell me this week, who was planning to a trip to Europe in a few weeks, that I needed to go. That now is the time. I feel like it's fate pushing me in the direction to go.

What about you little apples, what has fate been telling you to do lately?

Happy Weekend

No movies for me this week, and that makes me super sad face. But gosh darn it if I don't get out to see Die Hard 5 (don't hate, I'm a Willis fan for life!) this weekend I will never forgive myself! There aren't any movies coming out this month that I have any interest in seeing, so I'm looking to Netflix or HBO to entertain me this month. Any recommendations are welcome. I'm also debating about outright buying this movie because I can't stop thinking about it. Always a little kid at heart.

I hope everyone has wonderful plans for the weekend; and I hope Spring-y weather is in your forecast!

In bed...

This little puppy has the right idea; a day snuggled up in bed. Pure bliss! I plan on doing precisely this, because this little apple has caught herself a cold! With lots of holiday plans coming up this is so the last thing I need. My sheets are cozy and my pillows are soft...so I should be up and running at 100 percent in no time. Have a lovely weekend my friends.

PS You've got to check out this Christmas song, it's been stuck in my head all week

The Weekend!

Yeah, the weekend is almost here! Sorry to disappoint with no flick picks today but I haven't watched anything new! I have Hunger Games and Titanic 3D on my list of movies to watch, so hopefully I will see at least one this weekend. I feel like I've slacked on the blog this week too, and I'm very sorry about that. Work at Arhaus has kept me busy and then I'm tired in the evenings, and life in general is throwing me a curve ball so I'm trying to make adjustments and get to my happy place. I'm hoping this weekend will do just that.

Things I'm excited about...today is opening day at Keeneland race tracks, 66 degree weather forecast, sleeping in tomorrow, and the promise of Peeps and Cadbury eggs on Sunday!

Love you little apples, see you back here on Monday! xo

Bright and Windy

So it's Monday, and I'm dragging just a little... but a large cup of coffee, and knowing How I Met Your Mother will be on at 8 tonight are the biggest things helping me through this day right now. I hope everyone had an good weekend. I had the best Saturday afternoon with one of my besties. We drove up to Cincinnati in the morning and spent the whole day shopping in their Kenwood area. Their mall has an Anthropologie and it made me a little sad not be caught up in the holiday hoopla happening in their stores this time of year. But lots of shopping, eating, giggling, and drinking sparkling apple cider right from the bottle on our car ride home really made my weekend.

This particular outfit was from Friday though. Despite the strong winds it was particularly sunny and warm that day and it called for this flowy bright skirt. And I forget how comfy these boots so I'm trying to find a way to wear them more. They seem a little too "tough" for work. But I think with a more feminine outfit it seems to work.

So sip slowly on that hot beverage and we'll make it through the day my lovelies!

Happy Halloween Weekend

Check out all the pumpkins in my life right now! Above is my jack-o-lantern I carved last night, and below are four mini pumpkins my friend painted for me and an heirloom pumpkin serving as my kitchen table's centerpiece. I hope everyones weekend is filled with one last fall hurrah because November will be here before we know it!

Not only do the changing leaves, crisp weather, and pumpkins have me in love with the fall, here in my hometown of Lexington, Kentucky, it also means horse racing season! Every October marks the 4 week period when some of the most beautiful, and fast, horses graze the farm land around Keeneland's race track. This Saturday I found myself decked out in my most fashionable fall color palete to bet on the ponies and take in the beauty of Lexington. This 70s inspired a-line skirt is the perfect piece for a fall outing. It really was the perfect day at the track because not only was I in great company for the day and the weather was absolutely gorgeous, but I also had an amazing winning ticket on one of the races!

October Weekend

No flick picks this week because I haven't watched any movies! I know, can you believe it? Hopefully there's a movie or two in my future this weekend. Moneyball and Lion King 3D are high on my radar. I hope the first weekend of October has fun fall activities in store for you. I could definitely see a little white pumpkin like the one above gracing my front porch! xo

Weekend Review

It was such a wonderful weekend here in Lexington. So wonderful in fact that I had time to document it all so I could share it with you guys. Friday evening started with craft night with one of my best friends to make curtains for the house. Saturday morning started out right with yummy banana nut muffins and cool weather outside perfect for sweater wearing. We also caught the movie Drive and the UK football game. I also got to work on finally unpacking all our books in our newly inherited bookcase, and catching my sweet puppy curled up in my newly hung curtains.

I just feel so refreshed and ready for this week. How about you guys; how was your weekend?

Weekend Adventures

Just a little glimpse into my Saturday and Sunday...

A little work on Saturday at Anthropologie:  what our windows look like right now.

View out my car window on Sunday. I drove from Indy to Lexington to see my parents and friends for a belated birthday celebration
 .

Super cute, and yummy, brunch place in Lexington my friends took me to called Doodles. Love their friendly advice on their community table seating: "get to know your neighbors"

Our very yummy menu choices.

Even at 28 my parents still know I love pink icing on my cake.
With warmish weather still in the forecast and left over birthday cake to snack on I know this is going to be good week. How about you guys?  How was your weekend?

Happy weekend!

I am so looking forward to the weekend! A trip to the pumpkin patch, perhaps a double feature at the movies of Buried and Never Let Me Go, buying a new cell phone, getting to some fun craft projects I've been putting off, sleeping in and hanging out with my honey are all in my future. I hope your weekend is a great one too! We'll talk soon! xo Sarah
