Muller Cuteness

Have you guys seen these super cute Muller yogurt commercials? I am totally digging the vision of the stylists behind this work. I think they've captured the 20-30 age bracket of millennial woman perfectly. She's got the quirky, Zooey Deschanel look about her; with the blunt cut bangs, cat eye makeup paired with a bright lip, thin gold rings, and an eclectic style of dress. (It also makes me really want to try their yogurt; advertising success!) And did I mention she wears glitter heeled shoes, a parrot skirt I recognized from H&M, runs late for work, and has romantic candle-lit picnics on the dock with her boyfriend?! I mean, she's just like me!

Girl of All Work

Girl of All Work makes the cutest line of office and paper goods for the working woman. Of course that woman would have to have a flare for all things whimsical and colorful; exactly why I am oohing and ahhing over ALL of their products. I was drawn to the yellow business card holder (center) at a local bookstore, and after shopping online I recognized some of the page flags that are sold at Anthropologies too. So do your paperwork, and note writing a favor and treat yourself to some of their adorable products!

Circus Ornaments

Of course cute and Jonathan Adler go hand and hand, but just in case your dedication to his colorful cuteness was waning, this will reassure your devotion. Searing for something else of Adler's I stumbled upon this super cute series of ornaments. Not very holiday in my opinion; I could see these in a nursery made into a mobile, or displayed in bookcase or shelf. Of course if you had a bright and colorful Christmas tree these circus acts would fit in just fine! You can buy them individually here at Macy's. 

Alice in Wonderland

When one of your closest friends has a baby you are suddenly exposed to a whole new world of things. You guys know that I'm perpetually 10 years old on the inside; but knowing things like popular baby brands, products, and toys for a person under the age of 5 baffle me. So when my girlfriend showed me this beyond adorable baby book she got for her son, I had to share. Simply, it's a book about teaching colors, but set to the theme of Alice in Wonderland. Jennifer Adams and Alison Oliver are the creative minds behind this book along with others illustrated and written in the same fashion. Jane Eyre, Romeo and Juliet, Dracula, and A Christmas Carol are just a few of the titles they've turned into baby books. You can see more of Alice's illustrations work on her blog. So if you're looking to buy a baby gift for someone look no further than these books, Amazon sells them all, but try not to keep them for yourself!

Illustrative Cuteness

Try to look at these illustrations and not laugh or smile. Impossible I say! Totally by accident I stumbled upon the artist behind these, Matte Stephens, on Pinterest. I am totally in love with Alfred, the scuba diver sporting the awesome mustache, pipe, and trident. You can bet that print is already in my cart over on etsy. Matte is a painter living out Portland, Oregon and has illustrated and created images for some big name company's as well as illustrating children's books. Everything from subject matter to color palette feels like I'm looking at vintage prints from the 60's. Find his prints on his etsy shop and check out more of his work on his site too.

To Know Me...

is to know my love for Hello Kitty. Something about her mouthless face, oval eyes, yellow nose, and ever changing hair bow, puts a smile on my face and gets me squealing about her cuteness. For awhile there it seemed like every other thing I owned had something to do with Hello Kitty. I thought maybe I should scale back on her seeing as I'm not 10 years old. But I've been missing her lately so I decided to cruise around the internet and see what she's been up to. It's good to reconnect with cute faces.

Woodland Wedding Invites

One of my super cute, super talented co-workers and friends is getting married this summer. Sheena is the talented artist and worker behind our stores' display and window creations season after season. So it was no surprise when I opened her wedding invitation and something impeccably designed was inside. Sheena brainstormed up how and what she wanted their invites to look like and her equally talented artist and hubby-to-be Ezra drew them up. The main part of their invitation was printed on a piece of 5x7 fabric and lends itself perfectly for framing:  a great way to create a keepsake for their family members or for Ezra and Sheena to remember their special day. The rest of the inserts continue to beautifully carry on with the woodland theme of their wedding. I'm so happy she let me share her creative work with all of you. I can't wait for May, you guys!

Band of Outsiders

I have fallen in love with the Polaroid camera all over again thanks to Boy for Band of Outsiders' ad campaigns. Their newest line, featuring Kirsten Dunst, was shot at the Huntington Botanical Garden in Pasadena California and has this wonderful dreamy vintage feel to it.

Wanting to see more of their work, I headed over to their blog and found that almost all the photos to promote their line are shot with that retro Polaroid look. It's like you went through your Mom's old scrapbook from the 60's and pulled out all these random shots she took with her friends and turned it into a great style inspiration book. Character Cuteness

I have a weakness for cute characters. Give something a round face, two over sized black eyes, and a little "u" shaped smile to them and I am falling all over myself. Humanize them some way with, say, an outfit or driving a car, and your eardrums will be ringing from my squealing! And don't even get me started on random objects like fruit or food that have little faces on them...

Today I have found the cutest little characters illustrated by Slyvia Portella and they have brought me to my knees! I mean look at these little guys:



A croissant with a hat?! It's just too much!



Slyvia is quite the talented lady. Living in Berlin, and speaking 5 languages (the above alphabet is in French), she had been working as a graphic designer since 2001 until recently when she decided she was going to follow her true passion and become an illustrator. I love stories like this. Don't we all have things we have to endure before we can get to that perfect place we want to be? Slyvia you are motivating and inspiring me today!

You can squeal more over her work on her blogs; she has two: this one and this one, flickr profile, and her etsy shop. Which I am sad to say is empty right now because I would definitely have something of hers in my cart.

Milly Collection

This morning I have been wrapped up in the 2011 Spring collection of Milly by Michelle Smith. I had never heard of her until a few hours ago and since then I have fallen in love with her line. Isn't the internet wonderful in that way? One innocent click leads you to something amazing.

Her timeless silhouettes are feminine and sexy and use unique patterns and bright colors. Milly's Spring collection favors coral reds and kelly greens, with pops of yellow and purple, and is anchored by the ever classic black and white. Her collection is a nice blend of eccentric Peggy Guggenheim and classic Jackie O.

Really, I am instantly a fan of anyone who finds a way to incorporate the nautical look and printed dresses into their clothing. Watch the Milly runway show here and then fantasize filling a shopping cart with all her clothes here.

A vintage hello

Most of you know the love I have in my heart for Hallmark, (don't even get me started on the ornaments coming out in October!) but when I'm looking for birthday or other milestone cards for my friends I can never find one that is equally cute, pretty and different. They're either too sappy or complain about how awful it is to be getting one year older. So today I turned to my reliable, favorite place for cute cards: Borders book store.

They feature cards from popular places like Hello Lucky! and Papyrus but today I stumbled upon the cutest vintage remake brand selling there now called Nu-Vue Studio. They have a diverse collection of postcards, greeting cards, maps and other emphera. They cover all the major card giving occasions and even have an etsy store, selling only a small selection of their designs, too. They have a short list of stores that sell their cards on their website, but I found mine at an Indianapolis Borders and it's not listed on their store list so perhaps it hasn't been updated in awhile? Test your luck if you have a Borders in your city and check out their card section; and then be prepared to buy one of each. I'm going to have to figure out a way to get some of their Christmas cards because they are too cute not to have!
